Planting Tip

Direct seed or plant in germination trays. I have found direct seeding is the most succesfull. Keep wet till germinated.

Pinch

When plants are about  20cm - 30 cm tall, take sharp pruners or your fingers and snip the top off just above where two leaves should emerge. I always say look for a V shape, then cut above that V.

Uses

Excellent cut flowers. The more you cut the more blooms you get.

Netting

In my opinion nets are needed for straight stems.

Harvesting Tips

To tell whether a zinnia is ready to harvest, use the “wiggle test.” Cut low into your Zenia above the V for it to produce long stems. You will sacrifice some buds but the more you cut the more it blooms.

Germination

Easy
